The ice cream man has her number …

running for the ice cream man

And she’s got my bloody purse!

HEY YOU! COME. BACK. HERE!

Our Dixie Dee ice cream man knows he has an addict on his route. Not a day goes by when he doesn’t slowly wander by (sometimes twice), with his cheerful ‘it’s a small world’ playing, luring my youngest child from any / all activities. I’m starting to HATE him and his stinking $3.50 Revello bars.

I know I am making myself sound old, but when did ice cream bars and Popsicles go from $0.25 to $3.50?

Earlier in the week, I tweeted that she’d was running down the street after the ice cream man in her panties. I managed to lure her home by hollering, “you need money, comeback you have no money”. I thought, I’d missed a great photo-op!

No such luck, this morning, as she was changing into her swimsuit. Thank god, she wasn’t stark naked! The evil ‘it’s a small world’ sounded in the house. She immediately started screaming, “the ice cream man, the ice cream man, I need money, the ice cream man”.

As I watched her run around madly looking for funds in her knickers, I thought camera, camera, camera!

running for ice cream

I caught the tail end of her rounding the house, and through my camera lens I spotted my purse. She’s no dummy!

I lured her back to the house with the promise of ice cream in the freezer. I might just have a chat with the Dixie Dee dude about the extreme frequency, that he’s decided to market his product to my children.

Heh. You have to put a stop to that pronto, or when she’s a teenager, she’ll be expropriating your purse for her crack habit. I kid!

That same ice cream guy came right past the school at 320pm in June, He certainly knows his market.

Luckily she had something on! And while you’re talking to the guy, tell him to stop playing those irritating songs while we’re trying to have sex. Do you know how distracting that is?!? Quite the mood setter.

We’ve been lucky enough to be off the ice cream man’s radar thus far although Roo said she was at grandma’s and apparently my mom told him where our house is. Great.

OMGosh…#1 – Adorable pictures. Your such a great photographer. #2 Isn’t it absolutely crazy about the price of these treats! I’m a fan of BOGO at the grocery, that’s when I stock up. No Ice Cream Man in these parts.

I honestly don’t know what I’d do if an ice cream truck drove down our street regularly. My children are such addicts as it is!

I just love your daughters white blond hair and you can sense all that enthusiasm in her step in that first photo. Great shot!

Adorable! Yeah, the price of ice cream is crazy. They must think that since we’re not want to deny the kiddies, they can charge and arm and a leg for frozen milk.

The ice cream truck always rides by my son’s daycare at 5PM. It aggravates me….not only is it dinner time, he winds up getting me for $2.50 at least 3 times a week :)

LOL!! I love the photos, gosh she is just TOO CUTE FOR WORDS!
Twice a day, the ice cream truck drives past? That’s just torture!! I am such a mean mum, my boys don’t even know what that music means. Can you believe it?? They’ve had an ice cream from the truck before, but only when it was parked at the beach or playground (with no music blaring). They haven’t actually asked me what the music is when the truck drives around our neighbourhood. Hmm, I wonder how long I can get away with it?! We have a corner store just a few houses down though, so they like to go there for icy treats. I limit that to once a week. I’m so stingy!

Wow! great photos you got there! By the way, what camera are you using?
Well, better prepare your daughter’s clothes the next time you hear “it’s a small world”.

$3.50 is way to much, inflation is just killing the ice cream biz.

Oh my gosh – how funny! So glad we don’t have an ice cream man in these parts. I suppose if they could figure out how to get a refrigerator into a buggy, we could have an ice cream Amish guy…but what song would he play?? Weird Al, I guess. :)

Ha! nice pic for sure! that’ll be good for a wedding day slideshow. ;)

we had an ice cream ghetto looking van drive through here a bit in the beginning of the summer but it doesn’t anymore. The kids asked what the music was…i can’t remember if i told them the ‘whole’ truth or not (probably said, ‘it’s a van outside’). i’m pretty sure they don’t know about the existence of ice cream trucks yet. ;)

I love the hair. The pics are awesome. The ice cream truck in my neighborhood doesn’t get a lot of business. Their prices are too high. I remember 20 years ago whenever the ice cream truck came around a crowd suddenly appeared…not anymore.

I wish I had your phone number. So I could call you at home and leave “It’s A Small World” on your answering machine. To see if it has the same reaction.

This is too funny. Thanks for the laugh!! Ahhhh to be that young again.

And seriously? $3.50? EEK!!
