**Winner is: Cindi – hey, Cindi please email me @ kim (@) mommyknows (dot) com and I’ll send you out a prize.**

We’ve had a great couple of days.

Hiking, beach combing, ferry riding and even a bit of shopping.

We’ve just had the MOST delicious home-made soup and bread lunch @ the Haida Rose Cafe in Old Masset, Queen Charlotte Islands.

Don't Let the Exterior Fool You ...
Don’t let the exterior fool you. The cinnamon buns alone are worth the 2000 km journey.

The whole family is waiting for me … we’re going crabbing! Hopefully, we catch our supper.

Will check in again soon.

One of my favorite memories as a kid was crayfish hunting with my family. Have a great time crabbing, hope you get a whole bunch of monster ones!

I agree…don’t judge a restaurant by its exterior. The best food is often served at the not-so-updated places!! yum!

In my experience little family own cafes/restaurants or even donut shops have the best tasting food, and usually much healthier than others. There use to be this Korean Donut shop not too far away that had the most delicious jelly donuts. Mm…

Oh, woe is me……….I wish I was there.I love the kind of vacation you’re having. Glad to here you’re having fun and getting well fed at the same time. I’m sure the kids are loving it too, if there’s a beach nearby.

Congrats on the trip. Do you feel healthier up North? I know its a strange question but I always find that my body is decluttered from city life by the time I get up North. I love it up North. Stresses and everything else just seem to melt away. Enjoy the rest of your trip and hope you caught lots of crab for supper!
