My Girl

Ahh, just look at my girl …

Lizzy
She’s quietly sorting sea shells. No doubt she’s dreaming of all the wonderful creations she could make. IF her mother allowed glue and paint and crafts (aka HUGE frickin’ mess), more frequently than the semi-annual 1/2 hour craft making sessions she has scheduled now.

Then again, maybe she’s just thinking about all the fun she had collecting them. YEAH, I am pretty sure that’s it (crafts-schmafts).

So what about you all? Do you do a lot of crafty things with (or without) the kids??

Beautiful pictures.
I dont do many arts and crafts with the kids for the same reason…the mess. I know i should, they love doing it, but i dont enjoy cleaning it all up when its over.

You’re just joking about the semi-annual, right? If you’re not joking then Auntie will just have to start a monthly craft session with her because I know how much she loves it! And actually, I love it too. Not a bad idea, eh?

I love sea shells and the silver dollars are wonderful! A fun thing to do with shells is make a wind chime. Cindi

I remember when younger whenever we went to the beach my mother and I would take early morning walks and look for sharks teeth, cool sea shells, and sea glass. Those were some good times.

Where is the shipwreck at? That looks very cool!

My golly we do crafts and then some. Daily and huge globs of mess everywhere. The girls would never tolerate not having their daily art time. This is a great example here: http://imanoptimisticbeauty.blogspot.com/2008/01/art-day-gone-haywire.html

LOL… I love doing crafts myself and I guess my kiddos picked it up.

*@ Auntie Gayle* – I am kind of serious. Of course I’m not organized enough to schedule anything, BUT we don’t do craft very often. Your idea sounds great.

*@ Carey* – Thanks Carey!

*@ Cindi* – Thanks Cindi! The wind chimes are a good idea.

*@ Stairlifts* – My mom does the exact same thing! The shipwreck is at Naikoon Park, Queen Charlotte Islands, BC

*@ JaimeS* – Oh, the guilt I feel! You’re a better mother than I.

I wouldn’t say that Kim… I’m just a messier Mommy then you are. I go with the flow. The kids are only kids once so there’s no point in worrying about the crafting mess. The memories (and photos) from watching the kiddos make their creations are far more precious to me then a clean kitchen.

I love that pic of them on the boat wreck!
I avoid kiddie crafts at all cost! My mom is artsy-fartsy and she lives with us, so they get more if it now that she lives with me. But I hate the MESS!

What fun!

I do lots of crafting w/ out the kiddo but I suppose I should let him in on the fun more often. I’m a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to that stuff so it’s hard to let the 2yo have at it!
