Last week, after too much of that eerie toddler silence, I caught him red-handed. He had pulled a chair up to the home-made (sewn) advent calendar I put in his room (that I thought was definitely too high to reach) and had eaten three chocolates and was about to go on a fourth. How could I be mad at him for something I totally provoked (note to self: how idiotic can you be to put chocolate in a child's room and thing he wouldn't find a way to get to it?). He was like, "Mommy, look, chocolate!" Like he had discovered a new continent!
