Backyard Safari Outfitters (A+)

in Family, General, Product Reviews

I think our brutal Canadian winters make us Canadians REALLY appreciate summer. I love that my kids can’t get enough of the outdoors, so when I was asked to review the ‘Backyard Safari Outfitter’ products, I thought they’d be a good fit for my family.

They arrived last week the day before Georgia’s birthday. Being the cheapskate that I am, I wrapped them up to give her as gift.

I thought about handing them over to Sam, but I thought that he might be a bit too old. WOW, was I wrong. The minute Georgia opened the box Sam was all over the Bug Vacuum.

sam goes bug hunting

He had the Cargo Vest on, the Field Binocs around his neck and he went bug hunting.

Within a couple of minutes he’d vacuumed up a spider.

Once you’ve vacuumed up a creepy crawler you can twist a magnifiying glass across the end of Bug Vacuum and get a close up look at your catch.

Even the girls wanted a look …

The highlight was definitely catching a bee.

I got one

Can you tell he’s just a wee bit thrilled? YA THINK?

You’re probably thinking that Sam took over the Bug Vacuum. Not a chance the girls like it just as much.

We’re giving the Backyard Safari Outfitters from Summit Toys an A+!

That looks excellent, I know our girls would love it. I’m not sure how much Mommy would like it though, bugs – yuck!

I guess all kids will like this. kids like adventures. They like to follow what they see on tv.

I love these! I am planning a safari-themed party for my 5-year-old and these would be perfect! I have some great food ideas and decorating ideas, but I am having trouble with favor ideas. I was thinking about candy bar party favors
like those. Any other suggestions?

My Frankie played with a single ant for 30 minutes yesterday. He certainly didn’t get that from me. Hopefully it’s just a phase, yuck! I don’t think I’d do so well on the Backyard Safari if there are bugs invovled.
