A Week in Review … (and FREE Stuff @ the bottom) Time’s Up!

Dudes! Time flies!

DutchBlitz was going to do a year in review … then deemed it lame. While I don’t think it would have been lame, it might have been nearly fricking impossible (and long).

I figure I’ll just review this past week for you …

We had a VERY Merry Christmas (that’s if you leave out the work and the germs)!

The toys were a hit with kids of all ages:

Neo Shifter Dad
Ummm … Daddy? That toy was for Sam!

DS Grandpa
Grandpa! Can Lizzy have a turn now?

My Little Pony and Great Grandma
Just a little bit longer Georgia and Great-Grandma will let you have a go!

We had four generations to celebrate Christmas, the only thing missing was our Hayley. Make sure to go on over to her blog and wish her a Happy New Year!

Pencils from Brazil
Hayley sent these pencils from Brazil for Georgia, as you can see they are a BIG hit with Lizzy, right up until Georgia ate all the tips off. No worries, we have a knife … we can resharpen!

Lizzy New Hat
I love Lizzy in her new hat from my sister and family in New Orleans.

Georgia's Printing
Ahhhh … Georgia your signature is precious! I’m amazed how quickly they ‘get’ the idea of symbols. She already makes funny little shapes and is calling them numbers and letters.

Eeek! Sorry people, if your not related to me by blood, my two year old’s scribbles memoirs are probably helping you nod off to sleep about now. WAKE UP!

Canmore View
Boxing Day we headed for the Rockies!

Then the next day Sam’s ‘cold/flu’ turned into a ‘cold/flu with a RASH’ (unlike OMSH who is obviously more on the ball than I — I forgot the camera and had no exciting ER pictures) and he seemed especially lethargic and sick, so we headed for the ER. It turns out he has the Measles! AND he has been immunized … go figure!

Germs and Game Night
Instead of skiing as planned the next day or so was spent indoors playing games. Sam really liked the mask he was given at the hospital, turns out it is a lot easier to wear it and avoid your parents and grandparents hollering, “COVER YOUR MOUTH WHEN YOU COUGH”!

Finally on Saturday and Sunday; Lizzy, Mr. MK and I made it to Sunshine Village for some much deserved recreation.

SunShine Gondola
It’s a chilly gondola ride up to the ski resort.

SunShine Skiing
A cloudy day @ the top of Goat’s Eye Mountain — 9200′! It’s all downhill from here.

Eagle's Nest Cliff Klavin
This is the ‘tough spot’ on Lizzy’s favorite run – The Eagle’s Nest is a black diamond that seems unusually easy until you get to ‘Cliff Klavin’. Come on Lizzy …

SunShine
Happy New Year!

Psst! Don’t forget the giveaway … it ends tomorrow.

Oh hey, I put that in my brain bits – forgot to tell you.

KIM! Measles! AAACKK! And? Just so you don’t think I’m totally camera crazed, I took my iPhone into the ER, but not my camera. Although I was certainly bored enough WAITING that it would have been nice to terrorize the staff. The staff that was sitting around and doing NOTHING. Geez louise.

The snow photos are FABULOUS.
Tell Hayley that I want some of those pencils! HOW COOL ARE THEY?

Y’know, I don’t want to ski, but I’d sure love to take photos of all that snow. I’d even go and babysit measles boy next time if you want to tuck me into an extra suitcase. :)

Where you live is BEAUTIFUL! I hope Sam is feeling better soon. I cannot believe he got it even though he had the shot. Wonder how often that happens!?!?! Happy New Year! Hope I win a diaper bag! I left a comment in my blog. http://nowiknowwhatlifeisallabout.blogspot.com/

WoW! How do you do it?! The pics keep getting better and better.

I think I was on the other side of your kids this year – I was the one playing with all of my daughters toys before she got to (of course just to test to make sure they were safe!!).

@ OMSH – thanks for the brain bits. Lord knows it’s just what I need. Hahaha.

@ Angella – I know you meant ONLY yours would be lame, but I was too lazy to even attempt it!

@ Carey – Mr. MK did ski down Cliff Klavin, but I wouldn’t allow Lizzy to go down. She and Sam skied it last year in the spring but there was more snow and less Cliff Klavin.

@ Keara – I am waiting to hear from communicable disease people on possible causes. As he has been immunized it is a mystery, both where it came from (last known outbreak in Canada was 3000 miles from us) and why he got it. I am hoping Georgia doesn’t get it as she has just one immunization under her belt not the required two.

@ Amanda – Thanks … enjoy your new toys!

Happy New Year! Your Christmas looks fan-tab-ulous! The snow?? to die for…its beautiful! And the measles?? Holy Heck! that is crazy!! I hope that Georgia doesnt get it! I thought about doing a year in review, but this year was kinda sucky, not much to really want to go back over..haha- I keep reminding myself that being blessed with the birth of our now almost one year old and the fact that we have each other and are healthy.. the rest can be buried in the past. My new motto is “Things will be great in 2008!” ;)

Oh gosh, I would love to spend a week with your family (minus the measles!) I adore the photos of the older generation hogging the kids gadgets and toys. You have such a lovely family!

What an eventful week… 2008, here we come!

I’ve heard of a couple of weird cases where kids get diseases that they are immunized against… but I think the fact that they already have antibodies makes it an ‘easier’ sickness and possibly shorter. We had a very scary week last February when we thought our oldest had measles, but it turned out to be scarlet fever… still not fun, so I hope Sam is doing better soon!

I am completely jealous of the snow and the skiing and all of that! Not the measles though! Also, you are so cute doing the pics of the parents/grands playing.. CUTE CUTE CUTE!! We had a lot of that. My sister said my nephew had to have this STINKIN – Nap Yap and…oh..crap..no, no, not crap..but..hmm – Oh, Laugh Yap & Nap Donkey *from Shrek* – Well, I think it was her that wanted..although, I must admit, everyone that laughed at her ended up being entertained by it at one time or another. I mean, for Heaven’s sake, the think mumbles when you hold it’s mouth shut, then says “get your dirty hands off me like that” when you let go.. hahaha – Oh..and we saw the cutest video – go to youtube and search ‘evil eye baby’ – I swear, any minute this baby is gonna say “what you talkin’ bout Willis?” haha ENJOY!
