-39c and a Bathing Suit

It was -39 with windchill this morning. (This is not a post about the weather. Honest!) I mention it only, because it makes the fact that Georgia wore her swimsuit all day, that much more odd. I shivered every time I looked at her. I wore polar fleece and decided to this wasn’t a battle I needed to fight (or win). Goosebumps never killed anyone right?!

33/365 - 26/28 - hope
Here is my oddball in colour. This is also my 365Project photo for the day.

georgia is wearing
Here she is again in black and white.

I keep trying to ‘do’ black and white, but I always end up liking the colour versions better. How about you, do you prefer colour, or black and white?

I’ll be announcing the ‘Happy Book Day to You ~ the Series winner shortly’ make sure and check to see if you are the winner.

In my imagination I like black and white, but when put side by side I almost always go for color. Georgia makes quite a beautiful little model!

Georgia’s eyes are such a beautiful blue that I like the color for that reason. I do like black and white very much…..Thanks, Cindi

I can’t even imagine what -39 feels like, we really have NO IDEA what cold is!! But cold or not, Georgia is a very beautiful girl.

You know, I like black and white when I don’t see the colour option, you know? But generally, I’m such a colour buff, that colour is what I neeeeeed!

As an aside, I always make my kids put sweaters on when I’M cold. HA!

I really like the color because it brings out her eyes. You should try adding back in her eye color in the black and white photo. I think that would look awesome.

P.S. I love the name Georgia!

Yep, I’m in agreement… it’s totally in her eyes, such a beautiful colour. She’s lovely in black and white, but the colour makes the photo.

Your kids have such spectacular coloring that black and white seems wrong to me somehow…

As pretty as the color photo is (her eyes as just as blue as Jayden’s!), I’m just a huge sucker for B&W photos.

Now please fedex her to me. Ok. She just choose the wrong uterus, she was supposed to be my daughter :)

I do like b&w, but i really like your color picture here of your daughter.

Oh the colour! B&W always seems to be more “arty” in my head, but like you, when I see the colour it’s always nicer.

She’s gorgeous!

With her coloring, I like color better. This would also be a good one for the “hope” theme. :)

I think the b&w thing depends so much on the photo. In yours, I do like the colour one as it seems appropriate – her eyes and her bathing suit both tell a story…

I see so many photos from other photographers that I prefer in black & white … but I can’t seem to achieve the same results when I try. I think it has everything to do with post processing, and I know there is a trick to making black & whites “pop” but I don’t know it yet. One more thing to research :)

Your daughters eyes & skin tone are so wonderful that I think I would always prefer her in color :)

Love,
Jodi

I feel the same way about B&W verses color. I almost always pick the color but the one photo of my husband and I that just posted, is b&w only because I felt I had to pick at least ONE that wasn’t color. She’s adorable and the color makes her look so much happier in that little bathing suit. No, goose bumps never killed anyone. :)

That is some seriously cold weather. And the photos are great.

With the colour of her eyes and the contrast with the green swimsuit, it’s kind of hard to go for the black and white. You always have amazing colour balance and tones in your photos–I am not surprised you pick colour over black and white.

The photos are beautiful. I prefer the coloured version too, but the little Miss should wear something warm. She looks a litle bit chilled through.

She is really gorgeous. You should get her into modelling or something, I’m sure she’d be big. I do like some photos in black and white, and I don’t know what makes me decide that something looks better in black and white, but with her pic, the colour one really emphasizes her beauty.

What a cute bathing suit! Where were suits like this when I was a kid? Mine were always pink and frills-all-over.

Definitely in colour for this one, the blue (eyes) and green (swimsuit) really stand out.

It depends on the picture as to whether or not I prefer b&w to colour. Your kids have such gorgeous eyes I’d have to say stick with colour.

How is it that kids have such thick skin? I’m freezing in 3 layers in front of a fire.

She is such a beautiful girl, also looks somwhat like my niece. I think you would like her in black and white if she was maybe dressed like a ballerina. She has a very classic look to her.Good luck with the picture taking!

color all the way..beautiful blue eyes..blonde hair..you wouldnt be able to see any of that in b&w but if you find the right setting it would be cool to shoot one or two but stick to color.

I agree with Erika’s mom, your daughter looks similar to Dakota Fanning! I live in California, so I have no idea what a -39 degree windchill feels like, nor do I want to lol…great pics, keep up the good work!
